Review / Course Impressions
Finally, my first level 2 course – it was indeed more challenging than all the level-1’s I did. There’s a lot of thinking here, and loads of pages to study and to re-think about. The course assumes some good math skills – however, anyone doing MST121 together with this course (or anyone who did MST121 before) should do fine in this one as well – although it is more demanding than MST121.
The first three sections are very closely connected to the corresponding sections in MST121 – so if your notes for MST121 are good, you won’t have problems here (unfortunately, my notes proved to be very bad, so here’s my advice: Buy some big paper and draw good mindmaps while studying MST121 – you won’t regret it…)
The final section is the most challenging one; it considers topics I never heard about before (or at least I never learned about before), things like imaginary numbers or group theory. I was, once more, not prepared to have some time left (or even to give MS221 more time in my weekly schedules towards the end), so I ended up messing around a little. If you’d known things like that before, it would really help… But that’s the only thing that bothered me about this course – again, there were superb videos included, and the materials are presented well.
Final Words
I passed this course with a “grade 2 pass”; overal examinable score was 78, continuous assessment score was 87.
