    An interesting development! I’d look forward to seeing some more long term figures for Turbine’s sales after the hype has died down though. In their case they’re using the free sales method as something of an extended demo, which looks to be the same direction Quake Live! will move in after the failure of their in-game advertising tactic. Meanwhile Valve have proved that discounts can generate more interest (and revenue) than a new release. And 2D Boy are going even further and offering their award-winner for whatever price the buyer wishes, taking a leaf out of Coldplay’s book. Free is clearly a profitable price!
