As I already blogged, I did a massive redesign on one of the websites I look after. I finally got Photoshop, and I digged myself through a lot of webcasts and tutorials to quickly get up to speed.
So – here is the first webcast on the new theme; it’s not at all technical, but rather a “tour d’horizon” of what you can expect. If you want to see the site in action, head over to www.bluemonday-coaching.ch – it will be back online tomorrow Sunday afternoon or evening.
The site is obviously based on WordPress.
Here are the plugins used:
- Contact Form 7 – THE form generator for WP-sites!
- Events – a good event manager
- Link Library – to display all your links neatly arranged
- NextGEN Gallery – a good image gallery plugin
- PostTabs – for ajaxified tabbed posts
- Random Image Widget
- Recently Popular – displays recently popular posts (good for SEO)
- Simple Tags – a tag administration alternative to the one built-in into WP
- Sociable – a plugin to share a post on del.icio.us, facebook etc.
- WordPress related posts – again, good for SEO
- WP page numbers – an alternative to the boring “next page / previous page” links
The ajax-search field is based on a very good tutorial I found over at XCodeTuts. Thanks, guys!
EDIT: Sorry – just realized that it’s hard to read ANYTHING in this webcast! For the photoshop and coding bits, I will set everything to a higher resolution…

Nice webcast, interesting to see. Thanks for listing all the plugins you used, always curious to see what people have found and how they make use of them. Just one point, you missed off the link to the MyLinks plugin from the post itself. That aside, very useful!
Your blog is very interresting for me, i will come back here..
