Today, I finally ordered the next bit of my home-cinema: A Technisat Digicorder K2 DVB-C receiver. The main reason for it is to watch some english programs, but it will bring another advantage: we will have the possibility to record 2 programs at once (we already own a DVD / HDD recorder).
I then had a serious look at how the current devices are cabled and decided to prepare everything so that the receiver, once arrived, has only to be plugged in and will work. So, I recabled everything – and here’s how it looks now.
1. The “main central”
Note that the TV (SEG Canada) is pretty standard – it’s only used for watching news and zapping around.
2. The “Audio-section”
All these devices are over 15 years old and still very good! However, the receiver (Pioneer SX-303RDS, bottom) will have to go, in favour of a 5.1 receiver, soon. The rest is a CD-player (Pioneer PD-S605) and a tape deck (Pioneer CT-S330)
3. The “Video-section”
At the bottom, you can see our DVD / HDD recorder (Panasonic DMR-EH50) – and on top our old VCR (SEG VCR4200). Note the loose cables on top of it – this is where the DVB-C receiver will be plugged in.
4. The Beamer
Here’s the device we use when we really do home-cinema…
(Sanyo PLV-Z1X)
I might come up with some updated images, once the whole setup is complete…
